Welcome to Pilbara Therapy Service’s Equipment Library
We have partnered with a range of fantastic WA-based equipment suppliers to bring you a selection of assistive technology options for trial right here in the Pilbara.
We have the equipment to suit people across the lifespan, from young children to older adults.
The Pilbara Abilities Equipment Library is a project that came to be through identifying timely and cost-effective access to assistive technology was a significant barrier to those living in the Pilbara with complex health conditions.
Our equipment library aims to allow people to trial basic and complex assistive technology close to home and in a timely way. We are truly passionate about increasing your independence and participation in daily life through assistive technology.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. One of our big beliefs is that assistive technology should be accessible to everyone to increase their independence and participation in everyday life.
Anyone can access the equipment library.
If you have your own therapy team, we encourage them to be involved in the process as they often understand your specific needs in great detail. You are welcome to bring your therapists to equipment trials, and our clinicians are happy to liaise with them to achieve the best possible outcome for you. Once the trial is complete, our clinicians will pass on the specifics of the equipment trialled with your therapists so they can complete the relevant NDIS applications and gather the relevant quotes to continue your equipment journey.
If you are an existing client of Pilbara Therapy Services, your therapists can help with trialling assistive technology, gathering quotes, completing applications and getting your equipment set up.
-
You can access the equipment library through a range of funding options:
NDIS (NDIA, plan managed or self-managed clients)
Capacity building -> Improved daily living for funding of the time for trial.
Core for hire of equipment (plan and self-managed only)
Using private health insurance
Privately paying
Depending on the amount and complexity of equipment you want to trial, the trial can last anywhere between 30 mins to 2 hours. This time is billed at an hourly rate pro-rata, like a regular therapy consult.
If you are accessing the equipment library through your NDIS plan, a service agreement will be created to reflect the services provided.
-
If you want to trial equipment at home or remotely, please get in touch with us on 0400 126 445, and we can discuss the best way of getting equipment to you.
