What is the difference between an Exercise Physiologist and a Physiotherapist? While both professions aim to improve your physical wellbeing, our approaches differ. A Physiotherapist often focuses on diagnosing and treating acute injuries, often using hands-on therapies alongside prescribing rehabilitation exercises and guiding the initial stages of rehabilitation. As an Exercise Physiologist, I specialise in creating long-term, evidence-based exercise and behaviour change programs. My goal is to empower you to manage chronic health conditions, improve your functional capacity, and prevent future health issues. I work with you after the acute phase of an injury or to manage ongoing conditions, focusing on using structured exercise as the primary treatment tool. My Approach and Special Interests I have a special interest in working with individuals with neurological conditions, helping to improve function, independence, and quality of life through targeted exercise programs. With a passion for providing patient-focused care, I have extensive experience working with people through the NDIS to help them achieve their health and wellness goals. I also assist people in understanding and managing a range of other conditions for the best long-term outcomes, including: - Musculoskeletal injuries - Metabolic conditions (like diabetes) - Respiratory conditions - Cardiac rehabilitation Background and Qualifications My journey in the health and fitness industry began in 2010 as a personal trainer.
