<image:caption>Part Time at Karratha Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Curtin University in 2008 and began her career working at VisAbility. Although based in Perth, Amy embraced every opportunity to travel and work in regional and remote communities. On one such trip to the Pilbara in 2009, she worked closely alongside her colleague, an Orientation & Mobility Specialist. This sparked Amy's passion for this unique specialty, and in 2010 she completed her Master of Human Services (majoring in Orientation & Mobility) at Griffith University in Brisbane in conjunction with Guide Dogs Queensland. For the next decade Amy continued to develop her clinical skills by providing a combination of OT and O&M services to people of all ages living with blindness and low vision throughout WA. She maintains an active role as a volunteer with the O&M Association of Australasia. When working with clients and their families, Amy brings authenticity, respect and compassion. She prides herself on a client-centred, strengths-based approach that recognises the unique collage of a person's background, values and experiences. Amy is dedicated to promoting self-determination, as well as advocating for accessible environments, inclusive communities, and participation in all aspects of life. In 2024 Amy relocated to Karratha with her husband and three young children and has enjoyed building connections within the Pilbara community and exploring its surrounds. She is excited to have recently joined Pilbara Therapy Services and relishes the opportunity to collaborate with her new team and expand her scope of practice.</image:caption>

<image:title>Exercise Physiologists - Siarn stokes - exercise physiologist</image:title>
<image:caption>Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Science Located in Wickham, Karratha and Roebourne Siarn began her career in the health and fitness industry in 2010 working as a personal trainer and has since graduated her Bachelor of clinical exercise science in 2018 from the University of the Sunshine Coast. As an Exercise Physiologist, Siarn specialises in exercise prescription, physical activity strategies and behavioural change strategies to help people manage their chronic health conditions and injuries. Siarn has experience and great passion in working with people through the NDIS to help achieve their physical and mental health goals. Providing patient-focused treatment, Siarn also has experience helping people understand and manage their musculoskeletal, metabolic, respiratory and cardiac conditions for best long term health outcomes. Siarn’s life philosophy is all about balance; enjoying a healthy, active lifestyle both in the gym and nature while also nurturing the body’s need to rest and enjoy the ice cream when required. What is the difference between an Exercise Physiologist and a Physiotherapist? While both professions aim to improve your physical wellbeing, our approaches differ. A Physiotherapist often focuses on diagnosing and treating acute injuries, often using hands-on therapies alongside prescribing rehabilitation exercises and guiding the initial stages of rehabilitation. As an Exercise Physiologist, I specialise in creating long-term, evidence-based exercise and behaviour change programs. My goal is to empower you to manage chronic health conditions, improve your functional capacity, and prevent future health issues. I work with you after the acute phase of an injury or to manage ongoing conditions, focusing on using structured exercise as the primary treatment tool. My Approach and Special Interests I have a special interest in working with individuals with neurological conditions, helping to improve function, independence, and quality of life through targeted exercise programs. With a passion for providing patient-focused care, I have extensive experience working with people through the NDIS to help them achieve their health and wellness goals. I also assist people in understanding and managing a range of other conditions for the best long-term outcomes, including: - Musculoskeletal injuries - Metabolic conditions (like diabetes) - Respiratory conditions - Cardiac rehabilitation Background and Qualifications My journey in the health and fitness industry began in 2010 as a personal trainer. This experience fuelled my passion for helping people, leading me to graduate with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Science from the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2018. My Philosophy My philosophy is centred on creating a sustainable and balanced approach to health for the best long-term outcomes. I believe in empowering individuals to build their capacity and achieve their personal goals through a healthy, active lifestyle that is both effective and enjoyable. My ultimate aim is to support you in enhancing your functional independence, managing your health proactively, and improving your overall quality of life.</image:caption>
